Prince George’s Rippled Ash High Chair – Revisited

high chair made from rippled ash
Prince George’s high chair was designed in 2013 by Katie Walker and made by Roger Smith.  Rippled ash was chosen for its lighter colour and interesting grain. Wood for the project was supplied by Sutton Timber and originated from the Longleat Estate.   The resulting piece was not only beautiful in design but practicable in purpose.  In response to demand Katie has re-visited the design to produce a version of the chair for our very own little prince and princesses.

The highchair is  produced  in Ash by Sitting Firm Chairmakers using British materials wherever possible with wood harvested in the UK under a Forestry Commission felling license.  All materials and processes have been chosen with sensitivity to their environmental impact. Finished with either a clear lacquer or white Osmo wax oil it gives the chair a natural shine and goes someway to protecting it somewhat from our precious little cargo!
